OUR WEKEND!

Friday Abby graduated from N.O.V.A. A program for 6 th graders teaching them to reach for excellence in all they do. The Orem Police Department came into the classrooms for 3 months and worked with them. She received 3 awards! The Project N.O.V.A. Award, fore her rocket she received the rank as Captain, Outstanding Constitution Award that she wrote and read to her class. And her Certificate of graduation from he Program. We love you Roo! You are a shining star in our lives and a great example in how to reach for the stars! Abby was then off to her final dance rehearsal for a special luncheon honoring Beverly Sorenson who donated 6 million dollars to the arts programs at BYU. She was asked to perform in a dance they will be doing at the lunch as a tribute to her.
Then mom and Emma went over to Dress Rehearsal for Miss Orem...Emma became best friends with our Little Miss Orem. What dolls.
Saturday we went up to Tremonton and had a surprise 90th Birthday party for my sweet Grandfather. He is such an amazing man. It was a great day. All but 12 of the family made it. He has 26 grandchildren and 40 great grandchildren and this was HIS very first birthday party in his whole life. I LOVE YOU GRANDPA! His advice to all of us was to not quarrel with one another..nothing is worth being angry with one another about. He learned that mother being happy was the best thing for the home. AND he got his drivers license renewed! It was a great day!
We got home and Abby had informed me Friday morning that they had to build a castle for Monday at school....okay this was not the weekend to have that due...all well....we mad e a sandcastle cake...THANK YOU FAMILY FUN MAGAZINE...we did tweeck it just a bit bu making it pink! After we cleaned up from that mess..I had to make Abbys cake for the Tolman family birthday party on Sunday...So I made her a Beehive..she is going to be a beehive so I thought cool...(even though we had already decided to do this cake because her name was AbBEEE, we then later made the connection about her going into young women as a beehive) Any how it had 12 bees on the hive..This cake was a nightmare but it worked!Mom and Dads last birthday party before they leave in three weeks for Dublin Ireland. For their birthdays Aunt Beth made the scarfs for their mission and don't they model them well. My brothers put together this frame of mission tags with all of there and my Dads first tag and a place to add there when they come home....Dad's expression says it all. This is gonna be hard for me...trying to be tough! Any how it was a great weekend and we even managed to loose Scotts house key and this morning I had to go buy new locks...talk about a kill joy for the weekend!

That cake was beautiful! Great job. Congratulations to Abby on everything. It seems like I just had her in activity days. They grow up too fast!

Sounds like you've been going going going lately! If anyone can do it you can.

I like the bee cake, I'll have to store that away to use it someday.
