OUR WEKEND!

Friday Abby graduated from N.O.V.A. A program for 6 th graders teaching them to reach for excellence in all they do. The Orem Police Department came into the classrooms for 3 months and worked with them. She received 3 awards! The Project N.O.V.A. Award, fore her rocket she received the rank as Captain, Outstanding Constitution Award that she wrote and read to her class. And her Certificate of graduation from he Program. We love you Roo! You are a shining star in our lives and a great example in how to reach for the stars! Abby was then off to her final dance rehearsal for a special luncheon honoring Beverly Sorenson who donated 6 million dollars to the arts programs at BYU. She was asked to perform in a dance they will be doing at the lunch as a tribute to her.
Then mom and Emma went over to Dress Rehearsal for Miss Orem...Emma became best friends with our Little Miss Orem. What dolls.
Saturday we went up to Tremonton and had a surprise 90th Birthday party for my sweet Grandfather. He is such an amazing man. It was a great day. All but 12 of the family made it. He has 26 grandchildren and 40 great grandchildren and this was HIS very first birthday party in his whole life. I LOVE YOU GRANDPA! His advice to all of us was to not quarrel with one another..nothing is worth being angry with one another about. He learned that mother being happy was the best thing for the home. AND he got his drivers license renewed! It was a great day!
We got home and Abby had informed me Friday morning that they had to build a castle for Monday at school....okay this was not the weekend to have that due...all well....we mad e a sandcastle cake...THANK YOU FAMILY FUN MAGAZINE...we did tweeck it just a bit bu making it pink! After we cleaned up from that mess..I had to make Abbys cake for the Tolman family birthday party on Sunday...So I made her a Beehive..she is going to be a beehive so I thought cool...(even though we had already decided to do this cake because her name was AbBEEE, we then later made the connection about her going into young women as a beehive) Any how it had 12 bees on the hive..This cake was a nightmare but it worked!Mom and Dads last birthday party before they leave in three weeks for Dublin Ireland. For their birthdays Aunt Beth made the scarfs for their mission and don't they model them well. My brothers put together this frame of mission tags with all of there and my Dads first tag and a place to add there when they come home....Dad's expression says it all. This is gonna be hard for me...trying to be tough! Any how it was a great weekend and we even managed to loose Scotts house key and this morning I had to go buy new locks...talk about a kill joy for the weekend!

Happy Mothers Day and NOT!

Dallins class did a melodrama that is a tradition for Mrs. Turner for Mothers Day...They sing songs and do this really sweet poem and each one has a part. Dallins part was
" My mom's a chauffeur and drives really slow,
she gets me to the places I need to go."
He looked so adorable!!!!!!!!!
Abby also had Mrs. Turner! WE LOVE HER! Dallin has grown leaps and bounds this year with her TLC! He played the part of the cow in the drama, they were going to be sold to the villain!
" A moo, a moo, a moo, moo, moo!" I said "a moo, a moo, a moo, moo, moo!"

THEY DIDN'T GET SOLD! That afternoon, the PTA hosted the first annual "TCA"......

TEACHERS CHOICE AWARDS

Abby read part of a tribute to the teachers! It was so much fun as each teachers class screamed and cheered for them!

We went out to the cemetery with grandma to put flowers out for Mothers Day! It looks just like there front door used to.And finally the NOT! last night after getting home from a game we got a knock at the back door...it was dad...he had to be driven home from school...he was Sick..did he let me take him to the ER....NO...MEN are sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo Stubborn!

I mad him stay home from work and we are going to get to the bottom of this! If he let someone drive his car and him home...something is definitely wrong...we are pretty sure he went into some sort of hypoglycemic shock...at least we hope that is all it is......So this was our sweet babies when we got back home. I told ab's to just get in our bed. Gosh they make the worst night better! Oh and tough ol bubba got hit in the shin by a line drive but still got the m out at first and ran off the Field with a big ol grin! Got home and it tore the skin off his leg! BOY OF STEEL!

Of course Emma had to wear three different skirts that day! The 16 Monkeys in the good-bye train! Our LITTLE class! Miss Miriam and her Emma! Emma adores her! This was our big showcase day! Emma did the best her best ever! On to Baseball!
Dallin rocked at his first Little League game!
He was the only player to hit to the outfeild

A Hard Day....

Today we said good-bye to our dear sweet wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Grandma Darling was an elite lady! We loved her dearly and she will be missed. It has been hard to watch our grandparents each graduate slowly to other side. We have learned so much from this treasured generation. I honestly do not know how we will get along with out them... but we must find in each of us the qualities and talents they gave to us and move forward. One year ago when my grandma passed away, I shared this poem at her funeral and I would like to share it with Grandma Darling as well.
Once in a while someone special walks into your life
and really makes a difference.
They take the time to show you in so many ways that you matter.
They see and hear the worst in you, but don't walk away,
in fact they care more about you.
Their heart breaks with yours,
their tears fall with yours,
their laughter is shared with yours....
Once in a while a special friend has to go their separate way.
Every time you see a certain gesture
hear a certain laugh or phrase, or return to certain place,
it reminds you of them.
You treasure the time you had with the,m
and you thank God that someone touched your heart so deeply.
You remember their words, their looks, their expressions,
you remember how much of themselves they gave
not just to you, but to all.
You remember their strength that amazed you,
their courage that impressed you, their grace that inspired you
and the love that touched you!
Grandma Darling closed her eyes in peaceful slumber
and awakened with loved ones!
We love you sweet angel!

It's been a very BIG day!

Words CAN NOT express the feelings I am feeling in my heart right now! This day was so beautiful in EVERY WAY imaginable. This morning our sweet, amazing, strong, loving and endless giving Grandma Darling (Dallin) graduated from this life on to the next! She was such a devoted mother and grandmother...as Scott and I knew this day was approaching we both knew by promptings that she would go on Dallin's Baptism. It was so hard for her knowing she couldn't be to his big day and her children and grandchildren were her and Grandpa's EVERYTHING! Well she made it to the baptism...feeling grander than ever. We miss her dearly... Dallins Baptism was an incredible experience. He is a special little warrior and I know that he will do great things in the kingdom! Due to emotions running thin as well as waterfalls for checks... May the Lord continue to be with the Dallin Family!
Grandma & Grandpa Darling with the family@ Christmas Mom, Dad, and Dallin! Bud was so cute ...the rest of the day he just kept telling me"I want to get baptized again tomorrow ..and the next day...and the next...just everyday...It felt so good mom!" Dallin and his Baptism Brunch..Lots of fun with the family! We love you family! Friends Kristi and Aaron and his good buddy of a cousin Zach! Abby and Hannie Bananie! Grandma! We love you! Our princess Emma was so excited ! Aunt Steph brought Dallin some rocket balloons and Emma kept bringing her them to blow up so she could take them outside and let them go! Thanks for being so good to her Aunt NENE! Now these pictures were the laugh of the day. Little Sambo came around the corner with about 15 guns, swords, sabers and shields ready for combat! But what made it picture perfect was the saying on his shirt..."this is what trouble looks like" after the party I took the kids over to the school to monkey around...After all....Spring is HERE! Yup...tar pit castles was what Emma was trying to build! A special thanks to all of our freinds and family who came to help celebrate this very special day for Dallin.

My Amazing Babes!

I just need to write about how blessed I am to have such amazing children!
I DO NOT know what I did to deserve them!
Life is always so crazy around our home and this week was no different! Not one of them complained ...
My little Emma set the table every night and then wiped it down after I cleared it. She read her books and not one peep during my city PTA meeting. She was awesome in dance!
Abby cleaned the entire house while Glenda and I have been spending tonz of hours putting together Dallin's baptism surprise and fixed lunch on Saturday for the kids. Abby is raising her own money to help out the family with the cost of the dance and camps she has this summer.
Dallin never once complained about me being gone and played happily wherever we went! He took the most handsome pictures for his baptism and didn't say he hated it and had a great time!
Words don't and can't explain how wonderful they are...I know they aren't perfect but I am blessed!

These were the days...

My Bubbas Back!

Even though it entailed sobbing, crying and lots of
"I hate getting my haircuts!"
Dallin survived his first haircut since Novenber 1st!
I might add that we LET him grow his hair out under 1 condition...
that it would be cut for his baptism...
also because mom is put through the
rig-a-ma-roll when she cuts his hair.
But we did it and we all love having our bubba back!
He was shy about taking his picture at first,
but as you can tell he is happy with the results!
This was my first time not shaving it down to skin in the back...
It was a real haircut this time!
So if it looks bad...
blame his mom!
